And She is Back!

We’ve been back from Pullman for a week now, but somehow I have been too busy to give my faithful readers an update. Bad me. Let’s see, so much has happened since my last post. I didn’t get my dream job, after four grueling interviews all yielding what seemed to be promising results. I suppose I just have to whip up another dream right quick and tweak my resume.
I was seriously disappointed, but knowing the answer is somehow easier to bear than the limbo of “will they…won’t they” routine that is becoming all too familiar. Waiting to hear back after an interview is almost worse than the actual interviewing process. I haven’t given up on a job search, but it sure is tough in such a huge city.
Our trip to Pullman was a breath of fresh air and a much needed break. Just a quick tip for those who are planning on traveling by air any time soon: do not book seats in the back of the airplane. You know who is usually seated there? Babies. Screaming, “Bloody murder!” babies.
On the way up we had the misfortune to be seated in front of a bratty two-year old whose parents could not get a hold of their run-away-train-wreck of a child. She kicked the seat and almost ripped the tray table out of its socket. She made noises that a two-year old should not be making. Noises reserved for newborns going into cardiac arrest.
All travel mishaps aside, Bethany’s graduation was very special and I am so glad we were able to attend. Because we live so far away from family, every minute spent with them is well worth it. Pullman’s weather turned into hot-hot Texas (sans humidity) for whatever reason. I discovered that I like the northwestern version of hot much better.
Now that we are back, I am once again scouring for possible job openings, volunteering at the church (vacuuming up moths and roaches, which is strangely satisfying to my slightly cleaning-obsessed personality) and hiding from our insane humid heat.
Husband and I are supposed to begin our house-hunting journey this weekend, so if you have any advice whatsoever for first-time home buyers, please feel free to leave your wisdom in the comments or even drop me an email.
