Another Year Older

I am told I tend to slide into negativity quite easily and it’s been suggested I document all the positive things that happen in my life so I wouldn’t be such a crab. Well, as I file away another year, I’ve decided to start a new tradition of making two lists, one for my most favorite and one for my least favorite moments in the past year (I am really hoping the positive list is going to be longer, please). So, here goes,
Not so favorite:
1. Being unemployed for eight months.
2. Traffic.
3. Not being able to travel for Christmas. Or New Year’s.
4. Being diagnosed with an AVM.
5. Getting damage from a severe hail storm.
More of these, please:
1. Buying our first house.
2. Making new friends.
3. Getting a wonderfully flexible job.
4. Having in-laws visit for Thanksgiving.
5. Having my parents visit for two weeks.
6. Spending Christmas with our pastor’s family.
7. Living in close proximity to top-notch medical care facilities.
8. Holding in my hands the first, hot-off-the-press, copies of the book my husband co-wrote.
9. Eating lots of sushi (it doesn’t take much to make me happy, after all).
10. Playing Wii.
Well, looks like the likes is twice as long as the dislikes. Not too shabby. Happy Birthday to me!
