Cinnamon...Herring
We had a visit from our wonderful and long-time friends this weekend. It was great to catch up and to spend time together. I got to translate the seminar they put on about generosity of Jesus. Good times.
Being good friends, they brought a little present for our family, as good friends do. And, being from Norway, the land of the fish, they gave us none other than well…fish. A whole big bucket of it. We love fish. A lot. So we were all eager to get into the present.
They gave us herring. But not just your ordinary herring. It had spices in it. And cinnamon. The little bite-sized pieces of herring were covered in cinnamon. Now, I can see some of you going, ew, herring and cinnamon?!
I know, it does not sound like the two go together. But Norwegians have been dealing with fish for centuries now and they know their stuff. Even though the sound of it does not necessarily make one’s mouth water, the look and taste are really good.
Norwegians are actually famous for their sweet fish dishes. At least in Estonia. Anyway, just thought I would share this random bit of information with you. Behold a visual of mouth-watering cinnamon herring beauty here.
