Jack Bauer's Super Power
Very few people know this, but my special hidden talent is ripping through entire seasons of a TV series with unprecedented speed. Somebody’s gotta to do it, right? Especially if that somebody doesn’t have to go to work in the morning. Once, husband and I watched the entire first season of LOST in one weekend. Pretty sure we managed to squeeze all of the episodes into a forty-eight hour increment. Sleep, eat, watch LOST. Repeat.
Recently we have been obsessed with 24. We just got done with season 4 and something tells me season 5 is not going to be far behind, with a weekend coming up and all. One interesting thing I noticed about watching this series is the fact that we can’t seem to get through more than two episodes without snacking. Whether it be Double Stuf Oreos, mom’s homemade peanut butter cookies, or even the spicy Korean cabbage delicacy Kimchi.
We are both aware of the late hour, but somehow can’t resist the urge. I guess it’s all that nervous energy Jack emits while attempting to save the world by saying “Just trust me” over and over. Surprisingly, it works.
Tonight’s deliberation about snack consumption went something like this:
Nathan: “I need Kimchi.”
Me: “No, you don’t.”
Nathan: “I really need it!”
Me: “You don’t need Kimchi, you want Kimchi.”
Nathan: “I am going to go get Kimchi. It’s a low calorie snack with lots of flavor!”
After all, wouldn’t Kimchi be your first choice of snack if you were watching your calories?
