Same Ol'

You know those people who don’t update their blogs for, like, weeks? I am turning into one of those people. So sad. Not that I don’t have time, or anything. In fact, I seem to have all the time in the world. The problem is—I find myself with nothing to say. Every day is a replica of the day before…
There are some highlights in between all this time-wasting of mine. For example, I recently spent 48 hours reading My Sister’s Keeper. An excellent novel about a family dealing with their daughter’s leukemia and some decisions that affect everyone involved.
Jodi Picoult does an excellent job with this controversial issue, giving voice to those who often don’t get to speak their mind. From what I understand, she specializes in writing fiction about all sorts of controversy. Most recently, her novel 19 Minutes hit the stands, offering an inside look into a school shooter’s life/mind.
I loved Jodi’s poignant language and the emotions she evoked in me. The book was profoundly complex, like anything in life, only written in the most enchanting way. Her words were like a glass of freshly squeezed lemonade, gathering beads of sweating air on a hot summer day. However, those very words made me cry my heart out. So, beware, if you do decide to go for it: you won’t be able to put it down and you will cry.
