Inside The Criminal Mind
So now that I am done with graduate school, I have time to relax and do what I have wanted to in a long time. Most importantly, however, I can now choose what I want to read. This has been a wonderful perk of having no more homework and assigned (read: boring) texts to wrestle with.
WWW Anonymous: In Love With A Nerd
My lovely husband sent me this link to the top ten things a girl should know if she has fallen/is falling for a web developer. I found the list educational, entertaining, and a good description of my daily reality, for the most part. Seeing the list was liberating and frightening at the same time because it felt as though someone wrote down my thoughts, word for word.
Politically Incorrect
I have just finished my very last assignment for seminary…and it feels really good knowing that I will have some time to relax, before taking more classes and exams for licensure. This last class was called Inductive Bible Study (IBS) of Psalms. Holiday Blues
With Christmas just around the corner, busier traffic, a rise in sales, and a general feverish panic that seems to be associated with holidays are not the only things that increase. During this time, most people are at risk for relapsing on drugs and alcohol and becoming depressed. In fact, it is a well known fact that suicide rates go up during holidays.
The reason for this is stress caused by a variety of things:
- Having to be around your family
- Lack of companionship/annoying family members
- Insufficient funds
- Strain of cultural expectations
- And the list goes on…

And so I have been offered a job and I am graduating with a Master’s in Counseling tomorrow…Yet I do not feel as happy, fulfilled, or satisfied as I always thought I would. For one, I am not attending graduation because it is in KY, airfair bites, and, as a Registrar’s Office staff member, I have sat through a couple of those and I guess they are not that special to me anymore.
