Someone Needs Sleep
I don’t know about you, but I sometimes think about vain and irrelevant things. Things like what it would be like if you left the house wearing only one earring and didn’t realize it until you were deep in conversation with someone you really wanted to impress. Or, what if you put mascara on one eye, but not the other? You know, normal thoughts that normal people think, right?
After tonight there is one thing I never have to wonder any more. I didn’t think this week was particularly stressful, but I guess it really was, in a subtle kind of way. I got everyone ready to head out the door for church and was the last one rushing around like a mad woman, trying to get ready and leave on time.
We made it, dropped Hudson off at the nursery and headed to get some coffee. That was the exact moment I finally noticed that I was limping. One of my feet appeared to be shorter than the other, which was totally odd. I looked down at my feet and realized that OH. MY. LORD. I was wearing a mismatched pair of not just shoes, no, that would have been too easy. No. I was wearing a mismatched pair of BOOTS.
Yes this is completely possible. And yes, I still don’t know how that could have happened. My left boot was brown and the right — black. One was taller than the other. Needless to say I spent the rest of the evening trying to hide my feet under chairs and behind my son’s jacket. As soon as the service was over, I couldn’t get to the car fast enough. Wow. Just wow.
Here is proof and I really hope that this is the first and the last time I have done this.
